Description
Monroe’s White Liriope is a grass-like evergreen perennial featuring full and pretty milky white flower spikes that rise above rich green, grassy foliage clumps in summer. The flowers are followed by attractive black berries. Liriope are evergreen perennials of the lily family that are one of the most widely used groundcover plants in existence – and for very good reason. Unlike other Liriope varieties that spread wildly, Monroe’s White forms neat clumps that gradually increase in size over time, making it a perfect choice for use as a border along walkways and paths or landscape beds. The butterflies and hummingbirds will love the flowers and thank you for planting this one!
Note:  Monroe’s White prefers growing in part shade to full shade. Early to mid morning sun or filtered sun is okay.
Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 14 to 18″ tall and 18″ wide in a grassy mound, Monroe’s White Liriope is ideal for use in the shady areas of the landscape as an accent, a border edger along paths, walkways and patios, as a groundcover in shady home foundation plantings and under the canopies of shade trees. Also serves nicely as a grassy accent in combination container gardens. A fine addition to white theme gardens, butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens, and shade gardens.
Suggested Spacing:  12 to 15 inches apart for mass planting or solid border edger

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of  USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Liriope is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Monroe’s White Liriope is exceptionally easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and shade to part shade. Some morning sun or all-day heavily filtered sun is fine, but avoid the direct afternoon sun. Constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic.

nice to see a color other than the purple shades. plants were not as full and thick in pots as the royal purple, which I used to alternate color with for contrast. very easy to grow plant though, like day lillies these are very hard to kill and will take all kinds of conditions.——————————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks for the great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
I’ve ordered plants from a half dozen companies over the past year and Wilson Brothers is by far the best! My plants arrived in perfect condition; carefully packaged and beautifully green. They are growing in the ground nicely after just a few weeks. This company has a great shipping department and system to let you know when your plants will arrive at your door! The best overall experience with on-line plant purchasing and now my “Go to” company!————————————————-Wow! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
Several months ago I was searching for a particular plant which brought me to Wilson Bros. I am not tech savvy but the website was excellent. Extremely easy, fast, answered all of my questions, and has a wonderful system. If the product is sold out, they email you to let you know that they now have it in stock. Delivery is fast, always packed carefully. I have never had a plant that was not perfect when I opened the box. I literally have spent thousands of dollars with Wilson bros and I will continue to do so. I have only called the company once, and they answered my question, were extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with. Pricing was great, no more Home Depot or Lowe’s. I have 25 acres in Odessa Florida with a gazillion Wilson Bros plants and this is the only company that I will purchase plants from.————————————————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks for the awesome review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
I purchased these Liriope because I had them at my home in Paradise, CA which burned in 2018. I’m trying to replace some of the plants that I had in zone 9, and now I live in zone 8a/9 depending on the websites for plants.
I came across Wilson Bros. and gave them a try. I have never, and I mean never, purchased a plant through the mail. Where I lived in Paradise, we had a local gardener around the corner. Where I live now, is a bit in the sticks plus with Covid, I realized that I needed to try online plants.
The Wilson Bros. website is easy to use, and to coordinate plants that might go together with their “other customers also purchased” or “may we suggest”. I have gone to their site for plants time and again and I have never been disappointed. Every plant that I have purchased, and there have been a minimum of 20, have arrived well packaged, and cared for. My Liriope looked very healthy and I know that I will have blooms this spring because they have retained their blades of leaves (that’s if I can keep the dogs from tromping on them). If anyone has questions or concerns about buying from Wilson Bros. please read this review. I’m very serious about my plants, and they are very serious about the plants they send and the customer.————————–WOW!!! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! Thanks so much for the kind words and awesome review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
