We had planted five other gardenias years ago that were unimpressive with tiny white flowers but they served as hardy evergreen shrubs over winter and had a nice fragrance every spring. This spring was very warm early and we fertilized way too early. They were growing fast when the late freeze hit which turned them all brown and crunchy. I trimmed them back and removed all the dead leaves and could only see a slight bit of new green at the base. We assumed they might come back eventually but after seeing a sales email from WBG showing this new prettier gardenia with huge flowers I quickly bought 3 and dug up three of the old ones to transplant elsewhere. These new gardenias with green and yellow leaves are already a beautiful improvement even before they bloom with their much larger flowers. My wife took one look after I planted them and said they looked amazing. Wilson Bros has become the only nursery we buy from because they have so many beautiful new varieties of plants ever year and pack their plants better than any other online nursery and we have tried them all. Now we can’t wait to see the huge blooms and experience the fragrance of these bigger bloom gardenias in our front entrance every spring. Thank you Wilson Brothers for sending out the emails with new plant ideas every season. We’re running out of spaces to plant on our 2 acres.————————————————————————————————Wow! A unique cold hardy gardenia variety I’ve never seen before. The plant I got was healthy and already very large for a 1 gallon pot and is doing just fine in the ground so far. I received my gardenia and was please with the two tone leaves. The plant was in good shape and on closer examination already had blooms starting to bud. I have always beed happy with my purchases from Wilson Bros and this is no exception. My gardenia will be gorgeous this year.
